A-List Actress Kate Hudson Is Conquering The World Of Fitness With Her Fashion Brand

Kate Hudson has a knack for playing female characters that speak to the aspirations of women around the world. Her characters are often ridiculously in-shape like the dance teacher she played opposite actress Lea Michele on the acclaimed television show “Glee” or intriguing like the legendary rock groupie she portrayed in the early aughts music history film “Almost Famous.” If inspiration is a thread that ties many of Kate Hudson’s movie roles together it is also a concept that extends to her endeavors in fields other than entertainment.

In 2013 Hudson became the co-founder of an ecommerce clothing company known as Fabletics. She co-founded the company with Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler. Ressler and Goldenberg are the business brains behind the fashion company JustFab. In February 2016 Hudson released a lifestyle book via publisher HarperCollins called Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body.

In 2013 Hudson told Elle Magazine in an interview that her involvement in Fabletics arose from a desire to develop a product that had a deeper meaning behind it. Hudson’s interview suggests that she sees the importance in having a product be aligned with a positive message. She said she hoped that she would be able to reach women and bring them into a community where they could achieve their goals through Fabletics’ website. Hudson shared that she comes from a family of athletes and dancers and that physical activity has always been a staple in her life. She also shared that despite her fit figure she struggles with having the discipline necessary to maintain it. She mentioned that her physical trainer had been instrumental in helping her recognize that being disciplined is critical to staying in shape and maintaining a workout routine.

Fabletics is an online fashion brand that was co-founded by actress Kate Hudson and entrepreneurs Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler. Fabletics is part of the JustFab family of brands which includes fashion and accessory brand JustFab, ShoeDazzle and FabKids. What sets Fabletics apart from its competitors is it focus on fitness wear that can be worn by a wide range of body types and workout clothes that are suitable for occasions outside of the gym. The company reportedly focuses its designs on three principles: style, function and fit. It is also distinctive because it offers a VIP membership program that enables customers to pay a monthly fee and receive free shipping on outfits that will inspire them to go to the gym.
