Avi Weisfogel’s GoFundMe Campaign for Operation Smile

Avi Weisfogel is bestowing his support for Operation Smile through the launch of a GoFundMe campaign for the children’s charity. Operation Smile is an international medical charity dedicated to providing free cleft lip and palate repair surgeries across the world to children and young adults with facial deformities. Avi Weisfogel announced the launch of the campaign that aims at benefiting Operation Smile. The goal of the GoFundMe campaign is set at $2000. This campaign hopes to provide all the children affected by facial deformities hope of a brighter future.

Speaking in a recent interview, Avi Weisfogel said Operation Smile is founded on the belief that each and every child is entitled to exceptional surgical care. “All children deserve to be treated as if they were our own.” Weisfogel expressed the organization’s desire to ensure these children know they always have hope in spite of what life throws their way.

Weisfogel admitted that his passions and background are what led him to choose Operation Smile as the organization to benefit from the GoFundMe campaign he has been running. According to him, all children deserve access to the best healthcare available, no exceptions.

Operation Smile was founded in 1982 by Dr. William P. Magee and Kathleen S. Magee after they participated in a cleft repair mission in the Philippines. This mission opened their eyes to the need for more such missions around the world. The charitable organization has managed to build a global network of over 80 countries with more than a thousand volunteers from each. This team has provided more than 200,000 free surgical procedures and over 3 million comprehensive patient evaluations.

The organization brings together governments, local medical professionals and volunteers, hospitals, and other organizations that demonstrate interest to come up with various surgical care models. Their aim is to create and identify the most efficient solutions that will reach the largest possible number of children across the world. The charity has also managed to build long term sufficiency through its training of local medical professionals.

The organization carries out volunteer medical missions in different locations around the globe each year. Depending on the resources available on-site, the missions may require the organization to import equipment or medical practitioners and experts. The organization also works with local health providers to provide localized patient care in the specific culture and language of the location.
