Now Entering Russ's World
Crystal Hunt has been known for years as Stacy Morasco on One Life to Live as well as a series regular on Guiding Light as Lizzie Spaulding. Her roles have earned her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination, but most recently the actress has been garnering attention for a role on the big screen. Hunt stars in the 2012 sequel to Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike, featuring Channing Tatum in the lead role as a man returning from his retirement as a strippre to rediscover a life of excitement and the wonder of performing in front of an audience.
Hunt plays one of the movie’s many wild characters, Lauren, and her thoughts on the role were originally printed on PR Newswire. She stated, “As an actress, it was an honor to be casted and work with such talented individuals.” She continued to expand on the idea by revealing, “As a woman, it was actually an empowering role and the comradery among the females on set was apparent.”
Crystal Hunt has long since held a passion for acting and has been participating in productions since age 2. She has grown up starring in various commercials, from The Walt Disney Company’s 25th anniversary celebration to an anti-drug campaign with early 2000s pop sensation *NSYNC. Her role in Guiding Light, where she plays the troubled daughter of Philip and Beth Raines on the CBS soap opera, has been her most successful and she has since had other roles that portray eccentric, complex women.
The PR Newswire article closes with Hunt sharing a sentiment about the correlation between her role in the film and how daytime television stars have found similar success. “Similar to the strong women portrayed in Magic Mike XXL, we’re a group of strong women from daytime and primetime dramas,” she said. “We’ve discovered a way to use our extensive experience in the ‘soap opera world’ to create a script that’s truly unique and original.”
