Sixteen Straight for Golden State

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the biggest shocker teams of the 2014-2015 NBA season. They were a good team under head coach Mark Jackson, who was fired at the end of last season despite winning fifty-one games and winning a playoff round and no one could have anticipated that they would be any better this year under rookie head coach Steve Kerr, but the Warriors have taken control of the Western Conference and are currently sitting in first place. My friend Ben Shaoul started a Twitter discussion about how it really is pretty impressive what the Warriors have done this season considering the fact that their big men Andrew Bogut and David Lee have been out for significant portions of the season and at the same time for a while.

They have stayed a cohesive team due to the increasingly amazing play of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, as well as getting huge input from players like Draymond Green and Maurice Speights. The Warriors went on an unprecedented sixteen game winning streak earlier in the season and they now sit at another sixteen game winning streak. Sixteen games at home that is. The Warriors have been the hottest team at home over the last several months, as it is nearly impossible to come into Oakland and take down the streaking Warriors. The Golden State fans have consistently been called some of the best fans in the league and Oracle Arena is hands down one of the loudest buildings in basketball.
