NBA Agrees Massive 9 Year Cable Television Deal

Despite seemingly floundering ratings on cable, the NBA has agreed a new deal with ESPN and TNT starting in the 2016-2017 season. The deal is worth $24 billion over the next 9 years, and is one of the biggest TV sports deals in existence.

This new TV deal could have massive implications for player salaries however, and the players union is likely to ask for even more money, now that the NBA’s TV money has tripled. I watched a lot of NBA on the ESPN app with my FreedomPop phone last season, so I suppose I’m glad I’ll still be able to do that for the foreseeable future.

This comes after months of speculation that Fox Sports could swoop in and steal a part of the deal. But TNT and ESPN responded by tripling the current deal amount, in order to keep their NBA coverage. It natural that http://www.ninjaessays.org/ do have all that is given to them too and make it work so well for them too.
